We have just received a sample of one of the most interesting new digital SLR cameras that will become available on the market soon; the Olympus E-410. The Olympus E410 kit sample comes with a Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm 1:3.5-5.6 lens that provides full 3x zoom performance and a Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm 1:4.0-5.6 (35mm equivalent focal length: 80-300mm) lens. The Olympus Zuiko lens is a small and light telephoto zoom lens and comes as a part of the Olympus E-400 Double Zoom Kit. The compact and lightweight Olympus E-410 with Live View features a newly-developed engine, a 2.5-inch LCD and a dual-slot memory compartment for xD Picture Card and CompactFlash. And of course; 10 Megapixels!
Like the Nikon D40x we have used last week for shooting test images at the same location, the Olympus E410' compact size is ideal to take it with you all the time. The weight of the Olympus E-410 SLR is only 375 g (body only) and in combination with the standard zoom lens 565 g of total weight. Compared to the Olympus E-330, weighing 550 g (body only), the Olympus E-410 kit weighs more or less the same as an E-330 body only. What does this mean in practice? Well, it is just very convenient to take a small high resolution DSLR like the Olympus E410 with you and enjoy the day.
The Olympus E-410 digital SLR camera image samples are taken with a full test model and should be judged accordingly. The small images are reduced for easy viewing and compressed for faster loading. The large images are the original, non edited images.
