Incorporating a giant 3 inch monitor was not enough to experience digital imaging so Fujifilm decided to convert the FinePix V10 into a multimedia device. And why not, the processing power is there, the large high resolution display is there, the graphics are there.. combine them and you will have your own Fujifilm portable gaming device. You can choose from 4 games; Number puzzle, Block buster, Maze and Shooting game. The first three are incorporating your own image in the game, nice touch. The first one lets you puzzle how to get your own image back together again, the second one is the well-known Block buster game; destroy the wall with the ball and discover the hidden picture. The third one is a little maze with your picture included and finally the last game is an old-styled arcade shooting game. I like the idea of Fujifilm to incorporate little games like these, especially as it shows that you can do more with an image than just playing it back on the LCD display.

Pressing the menu button on the camera activates the menu on the 3 inch monitor. The first icon that appears is the photography menu with eight settings. Auto, portrait, landscape, sport and night are obvious and do not require additional explanation. Manual will let you set the white balance, exposure compensation and AF mode, and Natural light will let you take images that retain the natural ambience when shots are taken in low-light conditions. Interesting is the Natural light mode that shoots 2 images sequentially without flash and with flash. Shooting with flash allows you to take a picture of a main subject brightly. Shooting without flash produces beautiful images that retain the natural ambience. This mode is useful for shooting 2 different types of pictures at the same time. In practice this is very handy and useful for those photographers who are not skilled enough to decide whether to use flash or not.

| There are multiple display possibilities with the Fujifilm V10. In the menu you can change this setting and specify whether images are displayed after shooting. ZOOM enlarges the center of the focusing position, helpful for checking details. OFF shows no display after recording and 3 SEC/1.5 SEC lets the image appear for about 3 or 1.5 seconds and is then recorded. |
|
Although it might be tempting to activate the LCD display of the Fujifilm FinePix V10 digital camera all the time, you might want to save power to capture some extra shots later on that day. In the menu you can activate the LCD power save function. When activated, the LCD monitor darkens when the Fujifilm V10 camera is not used for 10 seconds. |
|
The Fujifilm V10 camera is able to capture sound during video clips or voice memo recording. The speaker is placed at the bottom of the camera. The sound is good;, you only have to avoid blocking the speaker. When you play back a voice memo and you find that the sound needs to be adjusted press the Menu/Ok button and press the arrows under the LCD to adjust the volume. |

| "Although I have had the Fujifilm FinePix V10 only for a short time in the office, and the status of this model is of pre-productions, I am impressed. The Fujifilm V10 is compact, highly attractive, offers a large 3 inch monitor and is easy to handle. Years ago Fujifilm started to use their own Super CCD concept. In the beginning there were many out there who doubted the technical potential or just did not think of the impact this small sensor could have in future compact digital cameras. Fujifilm has proven to be right and invested a long time ago in the future. Being able to deliver a compact digital camera that has no difficulties in handling noise issues is of high interest nowadays. I can only assume that some manufacturers would be eager to get this sensor into their own series of digital cameras..." |
