Exclusive first look at the Kodak LS663 with OLED display
Some weeks ago we were able to have an exclusive first look at the new Kodak EasyShare LS663 camera with the world's first OLED display inside! According to Bert de Wit - Country Manager Benelux and Nordics - this brand new Kodak camera will in this stage only be introduced on the European, Asia and Australian market, but could also be introduced on the America market in a later stadium. At a first glance the EasyShare LS663 is a regular digital zoom camera with a 3.3 Megapixel CCD (3.1 million effective pixels) and a 3x optical zoom lens, but when we take a closer look at the back of the camera we see a large 2.2-inch display that we cannot find or would expect to find on a regular compact digital camera. Time to introduce the world's first digital camera with the innovative 2.2-inch OLED display - the Kodak EasyShare LS663.
The Kodak EasyShare LS663 is designed for those who want to capture and share all those moments in a most user-friendly way with the use of the latest technology that make digital photography most enjoyable. The new technique of OLED inside the Kodak EasyShare LS663 results in a very large, full color and full motion 2.2" display which has a viewing angle of 165˚. The OLED display is a display you could only wish for having it on your camera right now! The OLED display is sharp, bright and can really be viewed in almost any angle you like. This new display has a resolution of 512x218 pixels and our first experience with this feature was in one word "awesome". This is the display you want to use with your digital camera. The size is great and even in bright daylight useable. The OLED technique is a new technique pioneered by Kodak. According to Bert de Wit from Kodak the new EasyShare LS663 is the first product which has an integrated OLED display inside. We cannot wait to find more OLED displays inside other cameras, but for now Kodak gets the credit!
