Closer look on the new SanDisk products
During our Photokina 2002 tour we have visited the SanDisk booth where they were showing their latest new products to the public. Tanya Chuang, Retail Product Marketing Manager of SanDisk, showed us the new products that will be available in the next two months of this year. The Ultra High Speed FireWire cardreader will be an accessory that professional photographers or anyone who is working with larger files would greatly appreciate. First of all, the hi-speed data transfer the new FireWire cardreader is capable of will safe a lot of time and second the design of this new reader is very compact and offers simplicity. This new cardreader has a 1394a interface that can handle a burst rate of up to 400 megabits per second (Mbps).

The next new SanDisk product Tanya introduced to us is the world's first USB 2.0 multi-card reader that is capable of handling 6 different flash cards. This product will be a product that will become more and more important to the market. According to SanDisk most new desktops and notebooks are expected to have USB 2.0 by the end of this year and the new USB 2.0 multi-card reader is backwards compatible with computers based on USB 1.1 interfaces. With this new technology this new SanDisk product is capable of transferring the data with a transfer rate of up to 480 Mbps.
