Konica introduces its 5 MP topmodel - the Digital Revio KD 500 Z

During the Photokina (25-30 September 2002 in Germany) Konica will introduce their new topmodel, the new 5 Megapixel KD 500 Z with 3x optical zoom. This new 5 Megapixel camera from Konica will be available around autumn 2002.
All the Digital Revio cameras from Konica are equipped with a high-quality lens and CCD that have to deliver high-quality images. The new KD 500 Z has a 5.36 Megapixel CCD with a 3x optical Hexanon lens. The zoom range is 39 - 117mm equivalent to a 35mm camera. The effective number of Megapixels is 5 Megapixels. Konica uses its own A-IPS image processing system to process the data into a high-quality image. Just like the 3 and 4 Megapixel cameras, the Digital Revio KD 310 Z and KD 400 Z, the new Revio KD 500 Z uses a dual slot for the use of memory. Both Secure Digital and MemoryStick cards can be used to store the images.
Konica Revio KD-500 Z
The 5.36 Megapixel CCD delivers a maximum resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels. The total ranges of resolution-settings are 2592 x 1944, 2048 x 1536, 1600 x 1200 and 640 x 480 pixels. The movie mode (AVI) records in a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, with a maximum recording time of 30 seconds with the recording of sound (WAVE). The KD 500 Z uses 2MB internal RAM to process the data during recording. The metering of the camera will be centre or spot metering. A shutterspeed of 1 - 1/2000e second and an aperture range of f2.8 - f8.2 will give a full control to the photographer. The nearest distance of focusing is in the macro mode 6cm.
The Konica Digital Revio KD 500 Z uses an USB 1.1 interface to transport the images or movies to a computer. The camera has a weight of 198 grams (ex. Battery and memory) and its dimensions are 94 x 56 x 29.5mm.
