Konica is showing the smallest 5 Megapixel camera of the world
We started this Photokina coverage with the publication of the new Konica Digital Revio KD-500Z camera. In the meantime we have had this camera in our hand and all we can say that it's compact, super compact. The line up of Konica digital cameras is getting really interesting and we expect some growth in the market share of 4 and 5 Megapixel camera in favour of Konica. But then again, it would not surprise us if their will be a competitive model coming up from another brand that will try to outdo the new Konica Revio KD-500Z. Konica has launched their latest camera on this Photokina 2002 event. The new Konica Digital Revio KD-500Z attracted lots of people who are all wanted to handle this very small 5 Megapixel camera that has even a 3x optical zoom.

This new Revio model is equipped with a 5.36 Megapixel CCD that provides an effective 5 Megapixel resolution. The KD-500Z features a dual memory slot that enables users to choose between two very popular kind of memory cards; the Secure Digital/MultiMedia card and the MemoryStick. The optical zoom is a Hexacon lens with a range of 39-117mm equivalent to a 35mm camera. This lens has a brightness of f2.8 in wide and an f4.9 in tele. The start-up time of this new 5 Megapixel zoom camera has even been reduced to a 1.3 seconds which is pretty fast. Despite the fact that this new Konica model is ultra-compact and therefore maybe not recognized as a full-featured camera, the Revio KD-500Z is even offering new features like AE lock and AF lock, exposure corrections and white balance settings within the reach of one press at the button. Movie recording of a maximum of 30 seconds with sound, macro mode that enables the user to take shots as close as 6cm from the subject are also features that most users are like to see built-in in these kind of cameras. We are all eager to see the first test-results of all these new 5 Megapixel cameras that have been introduced these days. We expect to see the first reviews appear later this month, so stay tuned..
