Canon presents his new i560 and i350 printers
The IFA organization does seem to have dropped a few stitches here. It turned out during the event that quite a few renowned (camera) manufacturers did not turn up. This almost happened to Canon also. But Canon itself took the initiative to leave the halls of the IFA even before the show had started and went to the neighbourhood of the Potzdammerplatz, to set up its own location. Unfortunately this location is not very close to the IFA show but it must have attracted visitors that usually wouldn't have visited the IFA, but did so now because of being in the neighbourhood, or travelling around in Berlin.
The spacious put up tent in the colours of Canon offers room to various Digital Imaging products. The new inkjet printers were set up next to each other and enjoyed a lot of attention. The new Canon i560 printer is 25% faster than his predecessor the i550. The new Bubble Jet printer i560 has a print speed of 22 ppm in black/white and 15 ppm in colour and is the fastest printer in his class at this moment, according to Canon. Using the Canon MicroFine Droplet Technology with Micro-Nozzles for 2pl ink drops, the i560 is able to produce 19 million ink drops per second to get a print resolution of 4.800dpi. The sizes which can be printed out borderless are: 10x15cm, 13x18cm and A4.

The i560 is the first Bubble Jet printer from Canon to support the PictBridge, so it makes it possible to print photos directly from every PictBridge compatible camera using a USB cable. The speed of the new Canon is visible when printing borderless photos, size 10x15cm. A full colour 10x15cm borderless picture is printed out within 50 seconds, which is three times faster than competing printers. The PictBridge standard is also available on the new i560 printer. By using the PictBridge standard the i560 supports the possibility to connect cameras and digital camcorders directly onto the printer using the USB cable, so it makes it very easy and fast to print photos. Every PictBridge compatible camera, regardless the producer, can now be connected to the printer to make photo prints without first having to store the images onto a computer.
Beside the new i560 printer Canon Germany also introduced a new i350 printer. As for size, this printer is a lot more compact than the i560 printer. The specifications of the i350 are: print resolution of 4800x1200dpi and a drop size of 5pl, print speed of 16 ppm in black/white and 11ppm in colour. This compact printer is able to make borderless print-outs in the sizes 10x15cm and 13x18cm.
