All Ring Tech introduces Viewcatcher combi
Mr. Larry Lu, President van All Ring Tech Co., Ltd., is present on the show floor of the IFA, together with his colleagues to introduce the assortment of the combination binoculars/digital camera. The combination binoculars and digital camera already exist in the assortment of renowned manufacturers like Pentax, but All Ring Tech is trying to obtain a larger market share by keeping the price low. One of the 4 different combinations binoculars/camera is the 10x25 Viewcatcher. The binoculars have a more than sufficient 10x optical zoom to bring an object closer and also to keep it steady. Exceptions are these people among us, like undersigned, who already have difficulties in keeping the object stable in the viewer with an 8x enlarging binoculars. The Viewcatcher has an angular field of view of 73.8m on a distance of 914m (100 yards) and an exit pupil of 2.5mm. The minimum focal range measures 3 meters.

Above mentioned specifications are more or less standard for an average pair of binoculars, however, the Viewcatcher also features a CMOS sensor. This image sensor has an effective resolution of 1280x960 pixels (1.3 million) but is also capable of capturing images in a low resolution of 640x480 pixels (300K). When the combination is set to digital camera the minimum focal range is extended to 15 meters. The adjustment for white balance and exposure happens fully automatically and the images are stored on the internal memory of 16MB. Using a USB cable the images can also be transferred directly onto a computer. The images can also be played on a TV screen by connecting the Viewcatcher on the video interface on a TV. This connection is available in both NTCS and PAL standard.
The Viewcatcher is delivered standard including a USB and video cable, software on CD and operating instructions. The combination binoculars/digital camera weighs 351 grams and measures 173.5x90.1x47mm. The Viewcatcher is expected to be available at the end of September.
