Samsung Digimax A55W Reviews from camera owners

This camera has a large number of features, and takes some of the best outdoor photos I have seen, but one thing makes it so completely irritating that I have decided not to keep it. That is, no matter what flash setting you use, it double flashes. This has some negative consequences: you will always end up with pictures of people looking away, because no one will be expecting this, you will miss lots of quick shots, unless the battery is completely charged, shutter lag will be horrible while the camera recharges the flash for the second shot. Even with the battery at 100% expect to wait at least 1.5 seconds for ANY flash photo. Your battery lasts half as long as you might expect. The double flash is supposed to allow the camera to meter the shot. This is an example of engineering overriding practicality. Theoretically, this is a good idea. In actual use, it is the most annoying thing I have ever dealt with in a camera and will cause far more problems than it solves. If the company would fix this one thing - at least allowing the user to shut it off - this would be a great camera and I would do a complete review. As it stands now, a complete review is not necessary. This one flaw is enough to make me not recommend it.
