The Praktica Luxmedia 5203 is a nice camera and takes good pictures, but let down by woeful build quality. I have had to return two of these Luxmedia 5203 cameras after the battery door cracked within 10 days of purchase. I certainly will not have one of these Praktica cameras again.

Bought the Luxmedia 5203 camera during a trip to Germany as a back-up to my Leica Digilux 1. Very good picture quality and noise handling - at he same resolution (4MP) superior to my 1000$ Leica, except lens distortion. Not Happy about: All programs and personal settings such as B&W mode reset to STD Program mode on shut-off. Very fragile battery cover. Cracked when inserted batteries the first time.

Bought the Praktica Luxmedia 5203 as a quick shot handy camera. Size and ease of use are good but it eats batteries. It only manages about 25 shots with flash before they are finished. As mentioned, the settings have a habit of resetting every now and again and the camera has 'locked' or crashed twice in two weeks. Having said that, the picture quality is pretty good although I haven't decided whether the preset light/speed settings are any good.
