The Dynax 7D is a great digital camera! High speed AF, intuitive controls, high quality images and AS built-in...I`m waiting for the Konica Minolta Dynax 9D (with 12 mp almost, body "weatherproof" and full-frame....

I just love my Konica-Minolta Dynax 7D. Before the 7D I owned an analog Dynax 500si. I was very happy to still be able to use my lenses and external Sunpak flash. I'm still prepared to invest: I just got a VC-7D grip off eBay. I hope lenses will be available in the future, not only from Sony but also Tamron, Tokina, Sigma and the like.

After beginning with a Minolta XG-7 in 1978, and moving up to a Minolta Maxxum 7000 in 2000, I finally had to have a Maxxum 7D. The pleasure of being able to use the AF lenses I'd invested in, along with a Quantaray flash that I'd acquired with a used Maxxum 5si, has made being a long time Minolta owner very satisfying. Sad that the photographic division had to go to Sony, but better than seeing it go away completely, at least I have the honor of owning the last great Minolta (albeit Konica Minolta now) camera. Throw a 4 GB Microdrive card in it, switch to Continuous mode, and watch it digest rapid-fire pan-action photos with ease. It may not win the Megapixel wars, but it's a solid performer so far, with enough features to satisfy anyone.

The Konica Minolta Dynax 7D is a great D-slr camera. Going into the digital slr direction, I evaluated a lot of cameras. At first, I left out Nikon d70 immediately for its rather poor high sensitivity grain control. The Dynax 7D camera is comparable to the 350D, 20D and D200. And I mean it, I did compare them. Though I have Minolta lenses from my analog system, I have evaluated them without prejudice. The Konica Minolta 7D won, with the Nikon D200 being second. The camera has a great viewfinder, the best ergonomics, wide angle VR lenses (and for free thanks to anti shake) and the Minolta lens system are great, helpful features over other systems. Optics, image quality, sensor quality are equal to other good cameras. Smaller market, lens range and availability, and slightly lower Megapixels are downsides of this camera. All in all, a Great buy!
