I did some research and found that you can fix the video problem with the 1.1b firmware update for the Casio EXILIM EX-Z850. I am sure that it will impress you after the firmware update.

I bought a Casio Exilim EX-Z850 thinking the mp-4video would be excellent. The S500 was a lot better. I had read a review about the video quality of the Exilim Z-850 not being very good but I crossed my fingers and bought it anyway. Big mistake don't buy it for the video quality.
