SanDiskSanDisk announced the addition of the 128 megabyte (MB) Memory Stick PRO, and 128MB Memory Stick PRO Duo cards to its product line. SanDisk now offers the industry's broadest range of Memory Stick PRO and PRO Duo cards with capacities that range from 128MB to 2 gigabytes (GB) and 128MB to 512MB respectively. The addition of 128MB capacities allows SanDisk's retailers to offer the Memory Stick PRO and PRO Duo cards at a price point below the 256MB capacity, which was previously the lowest capacity for these card formats. Sony and SanDisk jointly pioneered Memory Stick PRO to meet the growing consumer need for higher performance for a wide variety of digital devices including digital cameras, camcorders and PDAs.
These new cards are manufactured by SanDisk and allow consumers to upgrade from the performance of standard Memory Stick to higher performance and enhanced security features to protect their content. The Memory Stick PRO media product line also includes the company's advanced technology to assure optimal performance and large capacities at very competitive prices. SanDisk meets or exceeds all Memory Stick PRO specifications and performs extensive testing to guarantee compatibility.

MS PRO Duo cards are roughly half the size of MS PRO and are intended for use in smaller sized digital devices. An adapter is included with every MS PRO Duo card enabling versatility (or usage) with all MS PRO compatible devices.

Memory Stick PRO cards feature advanced capabilities that will, when combined with devices that are optimized for the Memory Stick PRO format, ensure greater reliability by preventing data loss due to sudden power loss or accidental removal of media while recording or transferring files. Memory Stick PRO media can be safely removed during a file transfer process without the risk of damaging the file structure on the media.

Memory Stick PRO-enabled devices can capture and play back DVD-quality video in real time as well as store multiple hours of CD-quality music, high-resolution digital images and other applications that require high performance and large capacities.

SanDisk Memory Stick PRO cards are expected to be available this month with capacities that range from 128MB to 2 gigabytes. SanDisk-manufactured Memory Stick PRO Duo cards are expected to be available Q2 2004.
