FujifilmToday Fujifilm announces three new FinePix digital cameras in a row. The top model is the FinePix S7000 Zoom, followed by its little brother the FinePix S5000 and the entry level camera FinePix A205s. Both the FinePix S7000 and S5000 models boasts the Super CCD HR technology, ensuring images are clearer and sharper than cameras with a traditional CCD. The easy-to-use FinePix A205s is equipped with a 2 Megapixel CCD. The A205s and the S5000 will be available in September 2003, the S7000 in October 2003. The FinePix S7000 is aimed on the prosumer. The new camera is built on the success and with all the features of the successful FinePix S602, including full manual control and 6x optical zoom.
The FinePix S7000\'s Super CCD HR image sensor produces a high 6 Megapixel output and a 12 Megapixel recorded output. The effective number of 6 Megapixels will be processed by the Super CCD HR technology which will result in a class-leading 12 million pixels. The S7000 is a serious alternative to a 35mm SLR. It is compact and ergonomic and is offering various settings for the serious amateur to capture images in every creative way. The camera has a 6x optical zoom lens equivalent to 35-210mm on a 35mm camera. The images are recorded in JPEG or CCD-RAW format giving the photographer the feature to record the images exactly as they were meant to be.

The camera also boasts a VGA digital movie mode, recording at 30 frames per second (fps), with sound. As added bonus is the dual card slot, enabling the use of both xD-Picture card and CompactFlash Type I & II or Microdrive cards. This combination is soon capable of carrying several gigabytes of memory. Other features of the new FinePix S7000 are 230,000 electronic viewfinder pixels, full manual control, USB 2.0 socket and high sensitivity settings (up to 800 ISO).

The second introduction today, the Fujifilm FinePix S5000, is the first Fuji camera with a 10x optical zoom lens. The S5000 will satisfy the most ambitious photography enthusiasts. The camera is like the S7000 equipped with the 4th generation Super CCD HR technology, resulting in a 3.1 million effective and 6 million recorded pixels. Those pixels can be recorded in CCD-RAW or in JPEG format. The new S5000 is capable of continuous shooting, it even achieves sharp focus on moving subjects. With low power consumption, just one of the benefits offered by the xD-Picture card system, and spot metering to capture complex image tones accurately, the S5000 is a technical all-rounder with a lens that excels.

The new FinePix S5000 looks like an SLR, weighs the same as a compact camera and is very user-friendly. Other feature are 10x optical zoom lens equivalent to 37-370mm on a 35mm camera, QVGA movie at 30 frames per second with sound, high sensitivity settings up to 800 ISO and improves Auto focus.

And with the FinePix A205s we come to the last introduction from Fujifilm for now. This easy-to-use camera is equipped with a 3x Fujinon optical zoom lens, 2 million pixels CCD, video out socket, increased battery life and smart Fujifilm design. The new A205s delivers high quality images without the need to frown over an instruction booklet. Small buttons and long menus can be intimidating to first timers, but the FinePix A205s is easier to handle with its larger buttons and a simple layout, making camera navigation child\'s play.

As a 2 Megapixel camera, the images are a manageable size so it is easy to send them by e-mail or order prints with an Internet print service. The 3x optical zoom lens provided the user an all-round optical reach. The low battery consumption is an added bonus. Two AA alkaline batteries supplied with the camera deliver an impressive 300 shots under normal conditions (with the LCD monitor switched off).
