Movies with sound can be captured too, in up to VGA size at 30 frames per second. Boasting a 10x optical zoom that covers a 38-380mm focal range (35mm camera equivalent), the Olympus SP-500 UZ is geared for extreme shooting flexibility. It allows subjects, like a player on the far end of a football field, to be picked out and captured in full-format compositions. Even greater zoom power is available by using the optional Olympus TCON-17 tele converter, which extends magnification by a factor of 1.7x for an incredible maximum focal length of 646mm (35mm camera equivalent). The wide angle capabilities of the Olympus SP-500 Ultra Zoom can be boosted too with the Olympus WCON-07 to enable stunning 27mm views (35mm equivalent). Photographers can also shoot from extremely close in Super Macro mode which allows photos from a distance of merely 3cm.

Helping to keep the scene and photographic parameters fully in sight, the Olympus SP-500UZ digital camera features a 2,5 inch LCD screen for framing shots, and also to enjoy comfortable viewing of the results. Additionally, an electronic viewfinder with 201,600 pixels is available.

The Olympus SP-500 UZ is the result of many generations of Olympus digital cameras. Anyone choosing Olympus expects a product whereby photography comes first and foremost.
