OlympusOlympus Mju 700 review : The Olympus Mju 700 was officially launched at the beginning of this year and is a member of the internationally renowned Mju family. The analogue version of the Mju was a world wide success and this fact alone was reason enough for Olympus to embrace the digital version. The Olympus Mju 700 is currently one of the top models in the Mju series and with 7.1 Megapixels is in the top league of digital compact cameras. The Olympus 700's compact format and metal, weather proof body look very stylish indeed. The Mju 700 features a 3x optical zoom lens with a range of 37-111mm (35 mm format camera). The rear of the camera is adorned by a 2.5 inch LCD display that, according to Olympus, gives greater clarity than conventional models.
Olympus Mju 700 reviewMju 700 - Stylish & Waterproof camera
Naturally, as part of the Olympus Mju family, the Mju 700 makes a lasting impression wherever it is taken. Its slim and compact weatherproof (equivalent to the IEC standard publication 529 IPX4) metal body radiates style, and with the wide choice of available colours; Moonlight Silver, Sunset Orange, Mid-night Black and Twilight Blue, the stylish camera design of the Olympus Mju 700 will catch the eye all the more easily.

Olympus Mju 700 camera - ISO values
Olympus also uses high ISO values to make improvements in situations that quickly require longer shutter speeds. The Olympus Mju 700 features an ISO range covering the spectrum from ISO 64 to 1600. In 3MP mode this even extends to ISO 2500. Increasing sensitivity is one way to prevent movement blur, other manufacturers invest in optical image stabilisers. One thing is certain: to this day, I have still not come across a camera that passes the ISO test with flying colours and really takes low noise pictures at high ISO values (800 or higher). The trial will reveal whether or not the Olympus Mju 700 will prove to be an exception.

Olympus Stylus 700 Digital review

Olympus Mju 700 digital camera review
One thing is sure - the Olympus Mju 700 stands out from the crowd. Its striking design, cased in a bright colour will attract many consumer's attention. The high resolution of 7.1 Megapixels is more than enough to get a lot out of the picture and the various picture processing modes and creative effects should give surplus value to a camera that has to conquer its share of the market in a strongly growing segment; that of 6 - 8 Megapixel digital cameras. I tested the Olympus Mju 700 during the trial period. You can read my findings in the following Olympus Mju 700 review.
