ColorvisionDatacolor exhibits at Cedia Expo London : Datacolor will be showing its home theater product range at Cedia Expo, a trade show of the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association, to be held in London, UK from June 19 to 22. As well as product presentations by leading manufacturers from the AV industry, the trade show also offers seminars and lectures for service providers, distributors and customers. As part of the "ISF Calibration Tour 2006", Datacolor is holding a two-day training course on the subject of video calibration in the run-up to the show. Interested parties can sign up for training as an ISF certified service provider (ISF = Imaging Science Foundation) on June 17-18.

The main focus of the course is on the practical part, during which trainees will learn about professional calibration using ColorFacts Professional. The training is intended chiefly for service providers working in the home cinema segment. On Wednesday, June 21, Datacolor will also be offering a two-hour basic training course: Those interested can go to Waterfront Room 24 between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., where they will learn the basics of video calibration free of charge, and find out how they can offer this knowledge to their customers as successful additional business.

Datacolor color calibration system
Datacolor ColorFacts Professional 6.0 is a color calibration system consisting of an integrated hardware and software bundle that optimizes video display systems, LCD, rear projection TVs, front projectors, plasma displays and direct-view televisions. The solution is based on a sensor that measures PAL and NTSC signals and the new HDTV format directly on screen and then forwards the measured data to a computer on which the calibration software is installed. The latest version of ColorFacts Professional 6.0 comes with the advanced Spyder2 colorimeter and supports more than a dozen third-party sensors. Moreover, the ColorFacts Professional software boasts a direct interface to most commercially available signal generators. Among the innovations in ColorFacts Professional 6.0 the screen calibration method deserves particular mention.

Datacolor ColorFacts C3 module
The ColorFacts C3 module integrated in the application provides direct and full access to the connected display for selected devices such as Pioneer's 6G plasma TVs - which goes way beyond the menu functionality offered by a remote control. What's more, C3 allows the expert to store protected calibration data directly on the device, preventing the owner from inadvertently changing (and losing) the settings. Other innovations include calibration wizards for high-quality video wall projections, control and monitoring centers for calibrating digital displays based on DLP and LCoS technology, Internet integration, new color spaces, and much more.

Training course - ISF training & Certification
Participants wishing to provide professional services on the display calibration market can purchase the industry standard ColorFacts Professional 6.0 technology in combination with ISF certification at a reduced price. The training course is available in two combinations:
• ISF training and certification for the price of 1,000 euros (ex. VAT)
• ISF training and certification including ColorFacts Professional 6.0 for the total price of 2,495 euros (instead of 3,050 euros) (ex. VAT)
