 Samsung Digimax S1000 : At the Korean Photo & Imaging 2006 event Samsung Techwin showcased their new Samsung Digimax S1000 digital camera. The Samsung S1000, the Korean name is Samsung Kenox S1000, is a new top model of the S-series of Samsung digital cameras. The following information is translated and therefore may not be accurate, but according to this information the new Samsung Digimax S1000 features a 1/1.8 inch CCD image sensor making it Samsung's first 10 Megapixel compact digital camera. At this moment it is not clear when the new Samsung S1000 will be introduced in Europe. Although some of the manufacturers actually stated that 'the Megapixel race is over', it is surely is not Samsung Techwin has in mind.

Furthermore the Samsung S1000 compact digital camera features a 3x optical zoom, probably the same as in the other S-series of camera. The Samsung Kenox S1000 digital camera has a larger LCD screen (2.5 inch) for clearer picture quality and sharing them with friends and family. Assuming the Samsung S1000 supports PictBridge printing out pictures is easy by connecting the Samsung Digimax S1000 digital camera directly to a compatible printer, without the need of a PC or notebook.
