ImationImation Inkjet Printable CDs and DVDs with AquaGuard : Print images with lasting impact on the new Inkjet Printable CDs and DVDs with AquaGuard surface from Imation Corp - available in mid-May through Imation authorized distributors. Thanks to the first-of-its kind AquaGuard nanoparticle technology, the new discs feature a whiter, brighter surface that provides a better canvas on which to print vibrant, lasting impressions. Printed images and text are also permanently locked into the disc’s surface - even when handled immediately after printing or when exposed to water. Inkjet disc printing is an efficient and cost-effective solution for duplicators who create CDs or DVDs, and the businesses or consumers they serve.

Imation’s Inkjet Printable Media with AquaGuard surface, the world’s first water-resistant and smudge-resistant inkjet printable media, alleviates traditional concerns about the appearance and smudging of inkjet disc printing compared to more expensive thermal disc printing. A white paper about AquaGuard technology is available at the Imation website.

“AquaGuard is a triple play for media design flexibility - the whiter surface allows for more vibrant color and the smudge resistance of our new CDs and DVDs sets the new quality standard for inkjet printable media,” said Tom Lally, U.S. executive director of sales and marketing, Imation. “Businesses and consumers who use our new Inkjet Printable CDs and DVDs with AquaGuard surface will know their printed discs will look the best - a big advantage in today’s image-conscious environment.”

National Professional Videographers Association
First introduced to the market in February through a private-label product by leading inkjet duplicator manufacturer Primera, Imation’s Inkjet Printable Media with AquaGuard surface has received overwhelmingly positive user feedback. “One of the major drawbacks to inkjet printing was how easy it was for the printing to smudge,” explained Gabe deMoura and Barbara A. Looby, owners, Gatsby Video Productions, a member of the National Professional Videographers Association. “Now that is history.”
