Our good friend Ian Burley, owner and editor of the UK based DP-Now website, has published an extensive and thorough review of the EPSON Stylus C84 printer. The EPSON Stylus C84 is a direct replacement of the Stylus C82. The Stylus C84 uses EPSON's latest DURABRITE inks that should give a great performance on uncoated plain paper through to special photo paper. This printer is capable of printing photos, web pages and presentations, but also large text documents. The Stylus C84 is capable of border free printing to A4. Separate ink tanks mean that less ink is wasted and the running costs are reduced. The EPSON Stylus C84 printer has a stylish design and silver finish and is suitable to do its job around any home or small office environment.

According to Ian: " Epson wants us to seriously consider adopting its new four colour pigment ink printers, the Stylus C64 and C84, for general purpose photo printing, as well as document printing. Here at dp-now.com we think their argument has some merit, though photo print perfectionists may not yet be persuaded.", "Longevity is not just about fading and discolouration. Epson has made much of the fact that its Durabrite ink is resistant to water damage. We can confirm that water splashed onto C84 printed plain paper or Durabrite glossy media does not easily make the ink smudge or run." and "Standard text mode quality is much improved, with impressive black density, but this time each print takes 12 seconds, or only 5 pages per minute. That's an average performance."
