Steve's DigicamsOur good friend Steve has published his findings about the stylish shaped 5 Megapixel Sony camera; the Cyber-shot DSC-T1. Sony has taken the best ingredients from the existing ultra slim cameras and added their wish list and 'Sony' specialties to them resulting into the world's smallest 5 Megapixel camera. The new DSC-T1 has a special design and features a Carl-Zeiss Vario-Tessar internal optical zoom lens. Internal optical zoom lens you said? Yes, by designing a special lens construction (like we have seen before with the DiMAGE X series) Sony was able to create a very slim body. The internal optical zoom lens has the advantage of a much quicker start-up time and a "full-proof" lens protection.
Steve's Digicams: Review Sony DSC-T1According to Steve: "And although it seems contradictory, the T1 has one of the largest LCD viewfinders among consumer digicams, despite the camera itself being one of the smallest.", "The T1 is a robust performer. From sliding open the lens cover till the first shot was captured measured an impressive 1.7 seconds; you will not miss many unposed spontaneous photo opportunities. Shutter lag, the time between depressing the shutter and capturing the image, measured 2/10 second when pre-focused, and lag including auto focus was an equally impressive 4/10 second; both of these times include about 1/10 second of delay in the live image on the LCD viewfinder" and "I was pleased with the T1's outdoor shooting results. The lens produced sharp results throughout its 38 – 114mm (35mm equivalent) optical zoom range, with a moderate degree of barrel distortion at extreme wide-angle and a bit of pin cushioning at full telephoto."

Looking for a super compact digital camera, high resolution, optical zoom and a nice 2.5-inch LCD display? Well, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T1 could be the one! Hop on over to Steve to read more about this 'wannehave' camera!
