WacomWacom sponsors Garden Photographers competition 2006 : Wacom will be sponsoring the annual Garden Photographers’ Association competition in 2006. An exhibition of the work of successful finalists will take place at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew from May to Sept. 2006 and the winners will be presented with their prizes at Kew in May. The competition is open to all professional photographers as well as photography assistants and students who aspire to work in photography on a professional level. Wacom is giving away an Intuos3 A4 pen tablet to the winner and is providing 4 Intuos3 A5 pen tablets to the 1st place winner in each of the 4 categories - Nature’s Garden, Nurtured Gardens, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and World Heritage Sites.

Ideal for digital photographers, Intuos3 provides extended functionality through the ExpressKeys and Touch Strips. The ExpressKeys are four-button keypads that can be pre-configured with frequently used modifier keys and the Touch Strip acts like a scroll bar with presets to allow zooming and scrolling. Users can directly access functions such as pan and zoom, cut, copy, paste and undo at the touch of a fingertip. For high precision work, each Intuos3 tablet also offers a resolution of 5,080 dpi and 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity in both the pen tip and eraser.

Garden Photographers Association competition 2006
Since 1999, the Garden Photographer’s Association has been exhibiting the work of leading international garden photographers from the UK and abroad. Members and guests meet several times a year, to provide a forum to collectively address relevant issues within the industry and aims to stimulate creativity among its members, through the annual competition and exhibition. Members include writers, broadcasters, book and magazine publishers, newspapers, photographers, artists and illustrators.
