CanonCanon Europe announces key appointments : Canon Europe, world leader in digital imaging technology, today announced it has made two key appointments to further strengthen its commitment to the professional print market. To be based at Canon Europe’s strategic headquarters in the UK, Per Klavsen leaves his role as Marketing Director, European Professional Solutions to become European Corporate and International Channel Director, with David Preskett replacing Per to become Marketing Director. The new appointments will ensure Canon continues to grow and maintain a strong position in professional print industry in 2006 and beyond.
Canon Europe announces key appointmentsPer Klavsen - Channel Director
Klavsen, who brings to the role his in-depth experience of the professional print industry, will have responsibility for channel sales across Europe and internationally, with the specific remit of developing Canon’s overall channel presence for not only its office product base but also the growth of its professional solutions portfolio. Prior to Canon, Klavsen has held positions at Agfa, Nexpress and EFI and brings to his new role a strong track record in sales, marketing and management.

David Preskett - New Marketing Director Canon
Preskett, who joined Canon Europe from Agfa in January 2005 to manage marketing activity for colour and black & white production printers, will have overall responsibility for all areas of professional print marketing and business development, which includes light, mid and high volume production printers, as well as Canon’s increasing solutions portfolio and large format product range. He will also lead key professional print initiatives across sales and service. With more than 12 years experience in the industry, Preskett has also held senior positions at Agfa, in UK, European and Global, sales & marketing roles in the pre-press and large format arenas.

Commenting on the promotions, Taz Nakamasu, European Marketing Director, CBS says: “Both David and Per’s experience, enthusiasm and contribution to date proves their ability to rise to the challenge of taking the Canon Europe to new levels and will be invaluable to our future success. Both have been instrumental in the growth of Canon’s professional print division within Europe and I look forward to seeing the continuing success of the professional team in the future.”

David Preskett - Competitive professional print market
Commenting on his appointment, David Preskett said: “I am delighted to take up this new challenge at this extremely crucial time within the print industry. Canon has some of the best and most experienced executives throughout Europe, and I aim to use this resource to support our customers in growing their businesses, as well as build on Canon’s current success to drive growth and expansion in the competitive professional print market.” Canon will launch a raft of new professional print products and solutions, including the highly anticipated imagePRESS printers at IPEX.
