The imagePRESS C7000VP, formerly known as imagePRESS ‘X’, and the imagePRESS C1, formally known as the imagePRESS ‘Y’, are next generation technology engines that have been positioned to meet the requirements of the Commercial Print, Print for Pay, Creative Graphic Arts and Corporate Markets. They are set to strengthen Canon’s presence in digital colour production environments. To highlight its extensive colour product portfolio, Canon will also be demonstrating further additions to its complete colour range by hosting technology previews of its soon-to-be-launched, colour laser printers, the CLC4040 and CLC5151.
Canon imagePRESS C7000VP & imagePRESS C1
The imagePRESS C7000VP and imagePRESS C1 deliver high image quality, stability and consistency, and are competitively priced at approximately €258,000 and €46,000 respectively. Both devices incorporate a number of new industry leading technologies that deliver output with the look and feel of offset printing. The imagePRESS C7000VP incorporates a new V-Toner, new T-Developer and new E-Drum in conjunction with an oil-less fusing system. New high-precision registration systems and imaging control technologies allow the engine to run at rated speeds on substrates up to 300 gsm. To integrate with existing workflows and methods, the engine is driven by a new imagePRESS Server A3000 controller that has been co-developed with EFI. The imagePRESS C7000VP has a 10,000 sheet air-assisted paper feeding capacity and offers on-line finishing that includes high capacity stacking, punching, trimming, and saddle stitched booklet making.

Canon imagePRESS C1 - High quality proofer
The imagePRESS C1 offers a similar level of high quality, stability and consistency as the imagePRESS C7000VP and also benefits from the new V-Toner, T-Developer and E-Drum technology. The engine has a rated speed of 14 ppm for full colour and 60 ppm for monochrome printing. It will be driven by the new imagePRESS Server Q1 that has been co-developed with EFI. It is positioned as a high quality proofer and digital colour printer for the creative and graphic arts sector, as well as the print for pay industry. The imagePRESS C1 can also be used as a device for commercial printers to use for proofing, short run and print on demand work.
Technology preview - Canon CLC 4040 & CLC 5151 printers
Building on the success of the CLC 2620 and the CLC 3220 within the corporate, graphic arts and print for pay environments, where 20,000 units to date have been sold across EMEA, the compact, high-speed CLC4040 and CLC5151 printers will offer 40ppm and 51ppm respectively. They will be unveiled fully at the Canon Concerto event to be held in Barcelona, June 6-8. They will have general availability in Summer 2006.
