RealvizRealviz VTour 3D image processing software : Realviz, a leader in image processing software development, is pleased to announce that VTour, the latest addition to their software portfolio for content creation, is now available. The product, which was unveiled at the recent IMAGINA show in Monaco, draws on the award-winning technology of Stitcher and ImageModeler and offers users an innovative and effective solution for the creation of photo-real 3D environments from 2D pictures or panoramas. Starting directly from digital photographs, or from full 360-degree panoramas (created using Stitcher, for example), VTour facilitates the creation of 3D scenes such as interiors, or urban areas using polygonal photo-textured primitives.

The results can be exported/published as either a 3D movie, or as an interactive application using 3D viewers such as Spi-V3d viewer. VTour has been specifically developed for use in a wide range of applications, such as virtual walkthroughs inside buildings and monuments, 3D simulation, virtual reality, urban planning and video games, and is also well suited for the creation of virtual sets for film and television. VTour thus ideally complements StoryViz, Realviz’ 3D previz and storyboarding software, enabling users to create photo-real backdrops for their previsualisation projects.

3D scenes - QuickTime panorama technology
“3D content is very ‘in’ at the moment, thanks to the videogame industry and special effects in movies. That’s why we are receiving more and more requests from our customers to visualize their own commercial activity in 3D in some way, with walkthroughs, fly overs, camera paths, etc. We use QuickTime panorama technology for our customers’ needs, but in Realviz VTour we’ve found a great partner and a quick way to accomplish this new 3D trend - without having to invest more money or manpower! Having had the chance to test run the beta version of this great software, we really like the user-friendly interface and the great tutorials provided, which get you up and running very quickly. With VTour, we are now able to achieve special projects in-house, without the need to outsource for artists with 3D skills.” Johnny Vaccaro, CEO, Panogames, a publication of Vrway Communication.
