CypressCypress appoints Hedayati as vice president : Cypress Semiconductor Corp. today announced the appointment of Babak Hedayati as senior vice president of worldwide marketing; Former Xilinx Executive Brings 18 Years of Experience. An 18-year veteran of the semiconductor industry, Hedayati comes to Cypress from Xilinx Inc., where he headed that company's Worldwide Product Solutions Marketing Organization and helped to establish it as a clear leader in the programmable logic business. Hedayati's responsibilities at Cypress will include strategic and vertical marketing, mergers and acquisitions and corporate marketing communications. He will report to Chris Seams, executive vice president of Sales, Marketing and Operations.

"Babak brings nearly two decades of technology marketing experience to Cypress with broad experience marketing semiconductors, software, intellectual property, and systems," said Cypress EVP Seams. "At Xilinx, he helped to shape and execute innovative marketing strategies, campaigns and product launches, enabling the company to expand into new markets and transform itself from a glue logic vendor to a system solutions provider. I am confident that Babak will be instrumental in improving our go-to-market strategy, positioning us for growth over the long haul."
