CorelCorel Software Partners with Markement : Corel Corporation announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Markement, one of Europe's largest suppliers of OEM software. Corel Software Partners with MarkementInternational bundling agreement
Today's announcement is the second major international bundling agreement announced by Corel in as many weeks, following its announcement of a new bundling arrangement with Lenovo on March 1, 2006. The agreement, and the related displacement of StarOffice, highlights the prominence of Corel WordPerfect Office as the alternative to Microsoft Office, and underscores the continued global interest in low-cost software. The deal is also major sign of Corel's commitment to the European market for productivity software.

OEM market - Corel software
"Our customers in the OEM market want access to an alternative to Microsoft's products- one that is well known and trusted by millions of customers worldwide, has good brand recognition and reliable technical support-all from a vendor that is clearly focused on the office suite market. We felt that Corel WordPerfect Office X3 met all those requirements," says Stephan Keck, Managing Director for Markement. "We look for suppliers who have a strong understanding of the markets we serve and who are committed to investing in the product offerings. The strongest benefit for our customers is the high quality of Corel software and the compatibility it provides with the market leader - in addition to the additional unique ease-of-use and features which set it apart."

Leading European OEM Supplier
Markement provides software to all the hardware manufacturers in the German-speaking region, predominantly Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as well as select manufacturers in other European countries. In addition to the route planning, security, CD creation, back-up, education and gaming applications, Markement bundles and sells as stand-alone products other Corel offerings including Corel Paint Shop Pro, Corel Photo Album and CorelDRAW Essentials 2. Markement delivers final bundles or stand-alone products to manufacturers, who add it to the hardware when it is shipped to the retailer for resale to the public. With unique, flexible OEM partner contracts, manufacturers can ship any product within Markement's PCSuite without needing to renegotiate contracts each time.
