SamsungSamsung SM400PXn LCD monitor : Samsung, a leader in consumer electronics and IT equipment, has extended its large format display offering with the launch of a Samsung SM400PXn 40 inch monitor combined with its MagicNet XPe embedded network display solution. Designed to meet the needs of the commercial large format display market, Samsung’s SM400PXn and MagicNet XPe combination eliminates the need for a dedicated PC for each display on a networked system, allows users to distribute unique content to each display across the network and permits web browsing directly on the monitor without the use of a PC. The Samsung SM400PXn and MagicNet XPe combination will be available in June 2006, and its recommended retail price is not determined.

“The network display market is showing strong growth and Samsung is well positioned to meet market demand for easy to use, high quality and multi-functional networked displays,” said Yoon Ho Ha, Senior Vice President of the Visual Display Division of Samsung. “Building on the success of our MagicNet technology, the new Samsung SM400PXn LCD monitor and MagicNet XPe combination aims to deliver increased functionality and performance along side perfect picture quality.”

Samsung SM 400Pxn LCD - LAN support
Perfect for businesses that require the benefits of digital signage without the need for a dedicated PC for each display, Samsung’s LCD network monitor reflects the display requirements of airports, hotels, shopping malls, offices, corporate lobbies, theatres, museums, exhibitions and sports venues. MagicNet XPe transmits media files (photo, audio and movie files) and office files (Power Point, Excel, Word, HTML and PDF files) existing on a server to screens connected to a network using the server/client architecture. Several screens can be connected to a LAN with content scheduled to appear at predefined times. This technology is unique to Samsung displays and not only delivers considerable cost savings but also improves the delivery of information.

Samsung SM400PXn - Memory and Interface
Building on MagicNet’s functionality, Samsung’s MagicNet XPe offers increased memory capacity and storage, operates on Windows XP, displays video in high definition and features a variety of screen divides and video wall options. In addition, Samsung’s SM400PXn is also equipped with Windows XP based simple computing to allow users to browse the web directly on the monitor and with a USB port to enable sharing of content directly on the monitor, both eliminating the need for a PC.
