SanDisk Ultra II Memory Stick PRO Duo card : SanDisk introduced the SanDisk Ultra II Memory Stick PRO Duo for multimedia-enabled mobile phones. The SanDisk Ultra II Memory Stick PRO Duo mobile card has faster read and write speeds than standard flash memory cards, as well as longer warranty periods. Faster read/write speeds improve performance of the card for file transfer and play on personal computers. Also, the cards they may reduce the energy consumption on the batteries of certain phones and are expected to accommodate performance requirements of future mobile phone models. The announcement was made at the CeBIT Show in Hannover, Germany. The new SanDisk Memory Stick PRO Duo will be available starting at a capacity of 1 GB.

SanDisk Ultra 2 PRO Duo flash memory
The SanDisk Ultra II Memory Stick PRO Duo card has a minimum write speed of 9MB/s and read speed of 10MB/s. The SanDisk Memory Stick PRO Duo will be offered only in high capacities, up to 4GB, and will have extended warranties in all regions of the world. “Network operators and phone manufacturers are increasing the availability of premium content, such as music, movies, games and broadcast TV, that can be downloaded and stored on flash memory cards in the mobile phone,” said David Smurthwaite, product marketing manager for SanDisk’s mobile card line.
