CanonCanon PowerShot A610 camera review : The second half of the year 2005 was dominated by a massive Canon introduction of printers and cameras, among which the Canon PowerShot A610 digital camera. This new PowerShot camera succeeds the Canon PowerShot A510 camera and enhances the resolution from 3 to 5.0 Megapixels. The PowerShot A series digital cameras of Canon are well-known for their high quality features that are borrowed from the advanced Canon digital cameras like the PowerShot G-series and S-series. In fact, the Canon A610 is a combination of the best of two worlds: refined advanced features and entry-level user-friendliness. A digital camera from the PowerShot A-line combines comprehensive functionality with low entry level.
Canon PowerShot A610 reviewCanon A610 - DIGIC II processor
De Powershot A610 features a DIGIC II processor, which drives a fast, responsive performance, and delivers superior image quality, in combination with the cameras’ 4x optical zoom lens. Focusing time has been cut by around 60%, and shutter lag is negligible at no more than 0.1 seconds. Smooth continuous shooting is now available at approximately 2.4 fps for the Powershot A610 digital camera. A wide range of manual, automatic and special scene modes offer flexibility, creative control, and simplicity when required. The Canon Powershot A610 camera also features a 2.0” vari-angle LCD, My Colors, and a macro mode that allows photographers to get as close as 1 cm.

Canon PowerShot A610 - Focusing & LCD monitor
The new PowerShot A610 features Canon’s 9-point AiAF for fast, accurate focusing even when subjects are not centred. FlexiZone AF/AE allows free scrolling anywhere within the frame's auto focus area to select the desired subject, for which exposure is weighted accordingly. Manual focus selection is also available. A 2.0” vari-angle LCD offers users great versatility in composing shots from awkward angles, such as from ground or waist level, above the head and when shooting self portraits. The selectable grid line display helps with composition and levelling horizons.

Canon A610 digital camera review
The Canon PowerShot A610 nicely fills up the successful A-line of Canon. This line is quite popular and offers the novices among us an entry-level camera combined with attractive and creative functions. The Canon A610 had to prove in practice that not only its specifications are interesting so we tested it thoroughly during some time to find out how the camera performed in practice. Our experiences can be read in the Canon PowerShot A610 digital camera review.
