Imaging SolutionsImaging Solution Pursus system for photo products : The world of digital camera image files quickly obsolesces traditional lab workflows and sales strategies. At the same time, photo prints from digital camera image files are produced at the highest image quality. But this is only the start of the emergence of a huge potential market that can be capitalized with the now existing possibilities of digital photography. Photo products such as photo post cards, photo calendars and photo books are becoming increasing popular with both consumers and companies. Customers increasingly want to create a world of memories with their image files. The resulting products are based on the individual ideas and feelings of the customer.

Because the image files are so personal, customers give them higher value and are willing to pay more for the resulting products. The key for the success of the central lab is providing these individualized value added photo products at an easy ordering process and at the best possible quality. Imaging Solutions is developing the Pursus system to enable efficient production of such value added photo products with outstanding quality. Pursus is a unique solution. The technology is based on real photographic paper. Pursus allows users to deliver value added products with the benefit of the excellent quality features of photographic paper.

Imaging Solution Pursus system - Components
The Pursus components webGate, pageCreate, workControl and fastFinish as well as an integrated front end, such as the high-performance Imaging Platform fotoZen of futureLAB, enable an efficient workflow an excellent integration into the lab. Central labs can offer a blend of a simple-to-use yet powerful order platform for these value added photo products. The resulting customer orders are cost-effectively produced with the Pursus components. This creates new opportunities for central labs to generate additional turnover with existing customers. In addition, new potential target groups such as post card publishers, museums, hotels etc. can become important business customers.

Pursus system - Photo technology
The Imaging Solutions Pursus system is based on photo technology and this results in extremely advantageous synergies in the central lab:
- Expanded core competence in photo technology: The Pursus components can be easily integrated into existing lab workflow. Furthermore, interfaces to existing systems in the lab can be realized without problem. While expanding their product range, central labs can utilize and extend their employees' specialized knowledge. Therefore, these individuals can be in charge for the production both of standard photo prints and of value added products based on photo paper.
- Higher cost-effectiveness: The overall cost comparison of the new Pursus line with the print-on-demand process shows that in addition to higher quality, products can be produced with the Pursus components at significantly lower costs. Furthermore, different seasonal peaks for value added photo products and standard prints allow an increase in capacity utilization.
- Cost leadership with small quantities : "Single unit order quantity" is standard with processes based on photo paper. This same advantage holds true for the production of value added photo products. The competing print-on-demand processes are very complicated and cost-intensive.
- Exact production of customer-defined quantities: Processes based on photo technology have always produced photo products in the exact quantities defined by the customer. This allows the central lab to create attractive offers for major B2B customers. Museums, photographers, hotels, restaurants etc. will be able to order their post cards and greeting cards with central labs in the future. They will enjoy greater flexibility in with choosing their images and the high inventory costs and related depreciations will be reduced to a minimum.
- Unsurpassed image quality: Significantly larger color space is available on photo paper than with the print-on-demand systems. In particular green colors in plants and grass, blue in the sky and water are much more true-to-life. Furthermore the Pursus component pageCreate treats image files and text separately. Each individual image file is enhanced with the unsurpassed Imaging Solutions' Enhance software. Text is rendered with high-performance algorithms. Then images files and texts are formatted according to customers' content and value added photo products can be produced at outstanding image quality levels not previously possible.

Imaging Solution - purePhoto brand name
Imaging Solutions has created the new brand name purePhoto for these value added photo products to differentiate and highlight their unique quality characteristics. purePhoto stands for the highest image quality which can only be realized with genuine photographic paper. Imaging Solutions' customers can use the purePhoto logo for promoting value added products in real photo quality. The Pursus system enables central labs to profit from the lucrative newly emerging opportunities in traditional and new market segments and signals that Imaging Solutions is the competent partner for central labs for the digital future.
