Steve's DigicamsNikon S6 at Steves Digicams : Our good friends at Steves Digicams have published their review of the Nikon Coolpix S6 camera. The Nikon S6 camera offers a 1/2.5-inch CCD and 6.0 effective Megapixel resolution to produce images that stay sharp even when significantly enlarged. The Nikon Coolpix S6 also features a high-quality 3x Zoom-Nikkor ED lens with a range of 35-105mm (35mm equivalent) that gives the photographer the flexibility to zoom out for beautiful landscapes, zoom in for tightly-composed portraits, and enjoy macro photography from as close as 4cm. The Nikon Coolpix S6 delivers the additional advantage of Wi-Fi capability. Offering IEEE 802.11b/g support, it allows users to send images wirelessly to a computer.
Nikon S6 review at Steves DigicamsNikon S6 - LCD and Optical zoom
According to Steve Digicams: "The Coolpix S6 is equipped with an internal 3x Nikkor optical zoom lens with a 35 - 105mm (in 35mm equivalent) focal length coverage. The maximum aperture is F3.2 to 5.3 and it has a dedicated macro mode. When powered down the lens is protected by a built-in shutter, no lens cap needed. I wish that one design team talked to another at Nikon, the Coolpix L2, L3, L4, P3 and P4 all feature glare-resistant LCD displays, so why does the S5 and S6 have a great big shiny LCD, it is like a giant mirror for reflections!"

Nikon Coolpix S6 camera - Steves Digicams review conclusion
Steve continues: "The Nikon S6 is equipped with ~20MB of internal memory and a SD memory card slot, no card is supplied with the camera. Images and movies can be copied from internal memory to SD card or vice-versa. We recommend the purchase of at least a 256MB (or larger) SD card or your picture taking will be quite limited. Chose the D-Lighting function by pressing the OK button, it will brighten up the background of flash pictures or to brighten darker areas of most images. It's quick and easy!"
