 Nikon S6 ImageLink support : Nikon today announced the launch of a new digital, which is now compatible with Kodak’s EasyShare printer dock, enabling consumers to print outstanding quality snapshots at the touch of a button without connecting to a computer. EasyShare compatibility will be included as a standard, in-camera feature in the stylish Nikon Coolpix S6 digital camera, giving Nikon customers more flexibility and freedom. The new Nikon Coolpix S6 offers a 1/2.5-inch CCD and 6.0 effective Megapixel resolution to produce images that stay sharp even when significantly enlarged. The Nikon S6 also features a high-quality 3x Zoom-Nikkor ED lens with a range of 35-105mm (35mm equivalent).

The Coolpix S6 comes complete with the COOL-STATION MV-15, to allow batteries to be recharged while they are still in the camera. It also offers USB connectivity and can even be hooked up for TV display. On a final note, the Nikon S6 comes bundled with Nikon's complimentary PictureProject software. The beauty of PictureProject is that it makes editing pictures, organising shots and sharing images remarkably simple, while a range of available plug-ins lets users extend capabilities as they like.
Nikon S6 compact camera - Wi-Fi communication
The Nikon Coolpix S6 digital camera delivers the additional advantage of Wi-Fi capability. Offering IEEE 802.11b/g support, it allows users to send images wirelessly to a computer as soon as they are taken or to transfer in one go all images stored in memory to a computer. The Nikon S6 compact digital camera also supports cable-free printing, enabling images to be sent directly to PictBridge-compatible printers without the need to use a computer.
Nikon ImageLink - EasyShare Printer dock
The Nikon S6 will be shipped with a custom dock insert to ensure a great out of the box consumer experience. Printing high-quality photos will be as simple as placing the camera on ImageLink-compatible printers and following the instructions that appear on the camera monitor. The EasyShare printer works via the ImageLink standard, introduced by Kodak and a consortium of leading digital camera manufacturers, including Nikon, at Photokina 2004. The ImageLink standard allows non-Kodak cameras to interface with Kodak’s market leading EasyShare snapshot printer dock.

Consumer digital cameras from Eastman Kodak Company, Konica Minolta Photo Imaging, Inc., Nikon Corporation, Olympus Corporation, Pentax Corporation, Ricoh Co., Ltd. and Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd. will provide effortless, one-touch picture printing from snapshot printers that incorporate the Imagelink print system, including new Kodak EasyShare printer docks. With the Imagelink print system, people place their digital cameras directly on printer docks, and then press a single button to make snapshot-sized pictures in seconds.
