PanasonicPanasonic Lumix FX01 sample images : After the press conference in Lisbon, Portugal, where Panasonic introduced the Panasonic Lumix FX01 digital camera I was able to shoot some pictures with the Panasonic FX01 camera. This ultra-small compact digital Lumix camera features a variety of cool features. Among them is the High Sensitivity mode, where the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX01 is able to shoot at a maximum sensitivity setting of ISO 1600. The High Sensitivity mode reduces image blur caused by subject movement, such as young children and pets, and especially benefits indoor photography by shooting at fast shutter speeds. This 6 Megapixel digital camera will be available in March 2006 in the colours silver, black, white and blue.

The Lumix DMC-FX01 incorporates the Venus Engine Plus LSI for high performance image processing, both in terms of speed and image quality, while still preserving low energy consumption. The remarkably quick AF response time, especially in the 1-point high speed AF mode, means that you will never miss that spur-of-the-moment shot. Other features to enrich your photographic experience include a high resolution 2.5” LCD and a comprehensive selection of useful scene modes.

Panasonic Lumix FX01 - Optical Image Stabilizer
MEGA O.I.S. -Optical Image Stabilizer- is featured on the entire Lumix range including the Lumix FX01. It compensates for hand-shake by shifting the O.I.S. lens unit to keep the optical axis aligned straight against the CCD, ensuring that the image is always captured sharply. As a result, Mega O.I.S. produces great quality pictures, free from blur and with no deterioration of image quality, at slower shutter speeds of more than 3 steps compared to other conventional models which do not have O.I.S.

Around the scenery where a castle was in the middle of it I shot some images with the high sensitivity mode activated. Combined with the optical image stabilization system (O.I.S), a nice Leica wide lens and the Venus Engine Plus LSI processor the new Panasonic Lumix FX01 becomes a powerful compact digital camera. The next day I shot some pictures in the old centre of Lisbon. The light conditions were ideal, sunny with a blue sky, resulting in nice contrast shots. Note that the sample images are made with a pre-production sample of the Panasonic Lumix FX01 and therefore cannot be judge as final quality. Continue to take a look at the sample images of the brand new Panasonic Lumix FX01 digital camera.
