Mr. James Chung, now retired, had a tremendous 35-year career at Fujifilm. In his most recent position as director of financial relations at Fuji Photo Film U.S.A., he served as the liaison with the American financial community and Fuji's ADR shareholders, institutional investors and stock brokerage firms. A few of his many professional affiliations throughout the years include serving as president of the PhotoImaging Manufacturers and Distributors Association (PMDA), vice president of the Society of Photographic Scientists and Engineers, and president of the International Photographic Council. His numerous awards through the years are equally impressive and include two photokina Obelisk awards - one for his efforts while serving as president of PMDA and another while serving as president of the International Photographic Council.

PMA member Mr. Paul Harmel
Mr. Paul Harmel is chairman and CEO of Lifetouch, Inc., and has been a member of PMA and the industry for nearly 30 years. During his career at Lifetouch, he progressed through several senior management positions and became president and COO in 1992. Five years later he became CEO and subsequently was named chairman of the board in 2002. In addition to guiding and growing the company, Paul Harmel has shared his talents with PMA, serving on the Commercial/People Lab Advisory Committee, as a PMA Trustee-at-Large, and as a member of the PMA Strategic Planning Conference held in Dallas, Texas, in 1996.

PMA member Ms. Machiko Ouchi
Ms. Machiko Ouchi serves the industry through her role as executive director of Joint PhotoImaging Enterprises Association International (JPEA), a position she has held since 1990. She originally joined the industry and JPEA in 1980, after first working as an English teacher and traveling extensively in Europe. She came to JPEA as an assistant to the executive director and eventually became an editor of the publication then known as Photo Express News, now called PEN News Weekly. In 1984, she became secretary of JPEA and editor-in-chief of PEN, a role she held until acquiring her current position.

PMA member Mr. Rainer Schmidt
Mr. Rainer Schmidt's career includes more than 30 years with Photoindustrie-Verband - the German Photographic Industry Association, a group that celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2004. Rainer Schmidt started with the group as assistant executive director in 1972 and just four years later was named vice executive director of the association and Fachverband der Photochemischen Industry, now known as CIPHO, Chemieverband Imaging und Photo. In 1987, he became executive director of the German Photographic Industry Association and three years later he guided the photokina opening ceremony on Oct. 3, 1990, the date of Germany's reunification. In 2000, he spearheaded the 50th anniversary of photokina.

PMA member Mr. Herb Stein
Mr. Herb Stein's extensive and varied experience in the industry includes five years at Agfa-Gevaert, where he worked as a liaison between American companies, using their Kodacolor and Kodachrome type products, and the factories in Europe. He joined Berkey Photo in 1967 and rose through the company to become vice president of operations in 1981. With the Colorcraft acquisition of Berkey, he held the position of vice president of operations and technical director, and he maintained these responsibilities when Qualex was formed in 1987. He retired from Qualex in 1990, the same year he was awarded senior membership by the Society for Imaging and Technology. A recipient of the PMA Life Member award in 1994, his activities with PMA began in 1968 with the formation of the Society of Photo Finishing Engineers (SPFE), for which he served as chairman from 1984 to 1989. Currently, he serves as SPFE technical advisor and has served PMA as a technical and industry consultant for the past 15 years.
