The Samsung 940BF monitor is the ideal display solution for anyone who uses motion video or streaming video. The Samsung SyncMaster 940BF has an Estimated Street Price of $429 and will be shipped in mid January 2006. “Samsung was one of the first companies to provide users with an LCD monitor with a four-millisecond response time earlier this year. Now we are raising the bar even higher by providing users with an industry-leading, two-millisecond response time with the new Samsung SyncMaster 940BF,” states David Nichols, Director of Display Marketing for Samsung’s Information Technology Division (ITD). “As one of the first companies to offer a two-millisecond response time LCD monitor in the U.S., Samsung shows its dedication to and allegiance to delivering its customers with innovative, best-of-breed technologies at a breakneck pace.”

Samsung SyncMaster 940BF - Response time and Ghosting
In order to achieve the blazing two-millisecond response time, Samsung uses its proprietary MagicSpeed and Response Time Accelerator (RTA) technologies in the SyncMaster 940BF. RTA technology is a video processing circuit that ensures stable viewing of DVDs and streaming video. By “jump-starting” the liquid crystals, they are able to turn faster which increases the brightness quicker and the user no longer sees a lag time, a blurring image or ghosting.

The ultra-fast response time allows for flawless picture performance when viewing multimedia-driven applications or engaging in computer gaming. The faster response time ensures better performance of motion video and produces smoother edges, clearer images and a more natural image response. Response time is a critical factor that users should consider when purchasing an LCD monitor. MagicSpeed optimizes the image quality and response time for an ideal viewing experience.

Samsung 940BF monitor - Profile and Color
To maximize image performance and user functionality, the displays feature MagicTune technology. MagicTune enables users to have full control over all display features with extensive color adjustment capability for an individual’s personal viewing criteria. This produces the best onscreen performance for the optimal personalized viewing experience and allows users to save their personalized display profile.

Samsung 940BF LCD monitor - Operation and Color management
Incorporating MagicZone technology, the monitor allows the user to select any area of the screen and change its characteristics. By paralleling the On Screen Display features, MagicZone technology enables users to customize the contrast, brightness, color and sharpness within the selected MagicZone window to their desired viewing preference. The latest additional to Samsung’s award-winning SyncMaster monitor lineup utilize MagicColor and MagicBright II technologies. With MagicColor the monitor automatically selects the areas of the screen that may need color correction and selectively enhances that area. For example, MagicColor allows users to remove the unwanted glare of an image and bring back the natural color appearances automatically. MagicBright II allows the user to select the proper optimized setting of brightness, contrast and gamma correction for the specific media type that is displayed. Users can select from one of the following five modes: Game, Movie, Sports, Internet or Text. With just one push of a button, users can improve image quality for the specific media type being displayed.

Samsung SyncMaster 940BF LCD monitor - Contrast and Warranty
Incorporating both analog and digital inputs, the SyncMaster 940BF delivers crisp, clean text and bright vivid colors. With its 700:1 contrast ratio, 300cd/m2 brightness, 1280 x 1024 resolution and 160-degree viewing angle, the display ensures even the most mundane tasks are easy on the eyes. Samsung backs all of its monitors with a three-year, parts and labor warranty, including the backlight as well as toll-free technical support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In addition, Samsung offers a three-year Advanced Replacement Program, three-year Repair and Return or Exchange and three-year Shuttle Exchange for hassle-free repairs.
