Kingston has developed a partnership with these photographers to develop a forum on its website to educate and inspire photographers everywhere - professional and enthusiast. “Icons of Photography” showcases the photography of several world-class photographers and their tips, techniques and advice for taking better pictures. Each month, Kingston will spotlight a new Icon who will provide interesting advice and anecdotes for taking better pictures and share how they successfully navigate through the new and exciting world of digital imaging.

Douglas Kirkland Photography tips
Each photographer will explain his or her unique process of preparing for and capturing their subjects as well as moving, sharing, and protecting their photographs after the shoot. Douglas Kirkland, world-renowned for his personality-revealing celebrity portraits, will be Kingston’s first Icon to be featured on the Web site. In addition to providing viewers with valuable tips for taking - and protecting - better photographs, Doug Kirkland will display a portfolio of images which span his illustrious, 50-year career. The Web site will also include current listings of Kirkland’s upcoming workshops, lectures, and exhibits.
Professional photographers - Icons of Photography
Other photographers participating in the “Icon of Photography” program include; photography legend Harry Benson, whose images introduced the world to The Beatles and who continues to shoot for such publications as Vanity Fair, Newsweek, TIME and People Magazine, to name a few; Barbara Bordnick, who received worldwide recognition for her “Great Women in Jazz” portrait series and her new book series Searchings: Secret Landscapes of Flowers; Colin Finlay, world-class photojournalist whose work has been internationally recognized by World Press and Pictures of the Year; Chris Rainier, world-renowned documentary photographer and director of the “All Roads” photography program at National Geographic; Peter Read Miller, internationally-acclaimed sports photographer whose work regularly appears in Sports Illustrated and other sports publications; and Gerd Ludwig, a photographer at National Geographic magazine who has taken photographs in more than 70 countries across the globe. He is a veteran of the renowned A Day in the Life book series, has won numerous photographic awards, and frequently exhibits his work at prestigious galleries worldwide.
Free Photography Tips and Techniques

Online portfolios, lectures, workshops and exhibits
Kingston will introduce a new photographer and their featured photographic technique on the 15th of each month from January, 2006 through January, 2007. Beginning in August, these photographers will provide a second technique, along with new online portfolios and updated information about upcoming lectures, workshops and exhibits.
