 HP Deskjet 6940 color printer : HP today unveiled the HP Deskjet 6940 color inkjet printer, a new performance printer that offers exceptional speed and professional-quality color prints at an affordable price. With wired Ethernet printing for sharing with multiple computers and breakthrough printing speeds, this convenient printer allows consumers to work more productively at home or in the office. While the HP Deskjet 6940 does not have built-in 802.11b protocol, it can conveniently print wirelessly by connecting the Ethernet cable to a wireless router. The new HP Deskjet 6940 color printer includes SecureEasySetup, which allows users to easily connect to select wireless networks in less then ten minutes.

The new performance Deskjet 6940 printer is designed for high-volume printing customers who need speed and professional-quality prints that last. The HP Deskjet 6940 offers greater productivity and less waiting with speeds of up to 36 pages per minute (ppm) in black and 27 ppm in color. High-volume inkjet print cartridges, optional 250-sheet paper tray and an automatic two-sided printing accessory are available for customers who need to increase efficiency to remain competitive.
HP Deskjet 6940 - HP Vivera inks and USB interface
The HP Deskjet 6940 color printer offers breakthrough speeds and professional-quality photos that resist fading for generations when using HP Vivera Inks with up to 4,800-optimized dots per inch (dpi) or optional six-ink color. With a PictBridge-enabled camera users can connect to the front USB port on the printer and print photos directly without the use of a computer. The HP 6940 printer prints standard and custom size photos up to 8.5 x 24-inch panorama prints, with or without borders, and include the HP Photosmart Premier software that allows users to organize, edit and enhance digital photos.

The HP Deskjet 6940 supports Windows, 98 SE, Me, 2000 Professional, XP and Macintosh Mac OS X v10.2, v10.3, and v10.4. The estimated U.S. street price of the HP Deskjet 6940 color printer is $129. The HP 6940 printer will be sold worldwide and readily available for purchase in January 2006.
