SamsungSamsung YM P1 video player : Samsung Electronics, a global leader in digital multimedia technology, raises the bar for portable entertainment with the Samsung YM-P1 video player. The latest in Samsung's award-winning line of digital audio and video players, the portable Samsung P1 stores and plays a full range of audio and video files, and is the first player of its kind to allow direct-from-TV recording via an AV-in connection. The YM-P1 will be on display during CES 2006. The Samsung YM-P1 portable multimedia player will be available in February 2006 at $399 MAP (20GB). Samsung's YM-P1, a 20GB HDD portable multimedia player, allows users to record their favorite programs direct from satellite or cable TV via an AV-in connection.

"Samsung continues to push the envelope of portable multimedia design with a full featured player that is capable of direct-from-TV recording and compatible with all of the file formats consumers expect in a digital device," said Mark Farish, Digital Media Products Sr. Marketing Manager, Samsung Electronics America. "The Samsung YM P1 is the ideal player for the on-the-go consumer who wants it all. Photos, movies, music, and even television all fit right into your pocket to make the longest trip, or the shortest commute, an entertainment adventure."

The Samsung P1 video player also offers player-to-TV playback, with VGA resolution, using the AV-out connection. Users can watch their favorite shows in 16:9 on a 4 inch TFT-LCD screen that displays 16 million vivid colors. An exceptionally long battery life provides up to six hours of video enjoyment, and up to fifteen hours of audio.

Samsung P1 media player - Audio and SDIO slot
The Samsung YM-P1 incorporates the WMA DRM10 for compatibility with the latest subscription download services. The player supports MP3, WMA, OGG, AC3, MPEG4, DivX, Xvid, avi, WMV, JPG, BMP and text files, giving consumers a broad range of entertainment options. The unit is Microsoft Plays For Sure Audio and Video Download enabled, as well as Audio Subscription enabled for hassle-free interaction with the most popular download services. The built-in SDIO slot can be used for expanded memory and additional functions to be supported through SDIO interface. The Samsung YM P1 features an FM radio, as well as gaming and voice recording capabilities. The unit also acts as a USB host for direct transfer of digital photos and files from other portable devices.
