PhotographyBlogCanon A620 review at PhotographyBLOG : DIWA member Mark Goldstein from PhotographyBLOG has reviewed the Canon PowerShot A620 digital camera. While the Canon PowerShot A620 features a 7.1 Megapixel CCD, the image quality is suitable for detailed photo prints up to A3 size. The upgrade to a 4x optical zoom provides a 35–140 mm focal length (35mm equivalent). With a maximum aperture range of f/2.8 (W) to f/4.1 (T), the lens is impressively bright at the telephoto end. larger 2.0" vari-angle LCD offers users great versatility in composing shots from awkward angles, such as from ground or waist level, above the head and when shooting self portraits. Smooth continuous shooting is now available at approximately 1.9 fps for the Canon A620.

According to Mark Goldstein: "The overall finish of the Canon PowerShot A620 belies its price tag, this is a camera that looks and feels a lot more expensive than it actually is. The various buttons are well-made and easy to operate, and the camera feels well-balanced in your hands. There are no real innovative features here, but everything that the Canon PowerShot A620 does, it does very well. It's been a while since I've used a camera with a flip-out, twistable LCD screen, and I'd forgotten just how much fun they can be."

Canon A620 digital camera - Noise and Close up
Mark continues: "There is virtually no discernible noise at the slowest settings of ISO 50 and 100, and ISO 200 also looks very clean. Noise can be seen at the fastest ISO speed of 400, but overall the Canon PowerShot A620 deals very well with a problem that afflicts most compact digital cameras. The Canon PowerShot A620 dealt very well with chromatic aberrations, which only appeared in one of the test shots - very limited purple fringing effects could only be seen in very high contrast situations. Macro performance is above average, allowing you to focus as close as 5 cms away from the subject." You want to learn more about the Canon PowerShot digital camera? About PhotographyBLOG
Mark Goldstein started his very active website PhotographyBLOG in January 2003. At first the one and only purpose was to let this site function as one of those popular web logs with Photography as main topic. But as we all know Photography is a pretty big subject to publish about so Mark decided to focus on some hot key points like mentioning all new introductions, reviews, reports from events like PMA and Photokina, sharing some impressive and creative photos and Mark's sole perspective of his feeling about this fascinating world of Digital Imaging. Mark is based in the UK, but his eagle-eye focuses global.
