Photographic CouncilInternational Photographic Council at United Nations : The International Photographic Council (IPC) announced that it will hold its annual IPC New Year’s Luncheon at the United Nations. Lunch attendees will include professional photographers, advertising and marketing executives, photography manufacturers, and dealers/distributors. The New Year’s Luncheon will include presentations by the most respected and recognized sports brand in the world, Sports Illustrated Magazine, whose Publisher, Photo Editor, and Staff Photographer, will kick-off the XX Winter Olympics 2006 season to be held in Turin, Italy in February by showing exciting examples of sports photography and the world of Winter Olympics.
International Photographic Council at United NationsIPC - Hall of Fame Award
Herbert Keppler, Vice President, Popular Photography & Imaging and American Photo magazines, will be honored at the luncheon with the IPC Hall of Fame Award for his contribution to the photographic industry to support a common good for the advancement of photography. Prior to his position at Popular Photography & Imaging, Mr. Keppler was Editorial Director and Publisher of Modern Photography Magazine and Senior Vice President of ABC Leisure Magazines, a division of the American Broadcasting Company.

Mr. Keppler has authored seven books and periodicals on photography and is an outstanding photographer, as well as an expert in camera design. He is a graduate of Harvard College and has served as commanding officer in the Navy. Among the many awards Mr. Keppler has won, include The Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold Rays with Rosette presented by His Majesty, the Emperor of Japan for his outstanding contributions to the development of the Japanese camera industry and the promotion of understanding between Japan and the United States.

IPC New Year’s luncheon - Time and Place
The IPC (International Photographic Council) New Year’s Luncheon will be held at the United Nations on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 from 11:30 AM-2:30 PM, 4th Floor, Delegate Dining Room. The IPC New Year’s Luncheon is priced at $95 per person.
