The guys from Imaging Resource updated their indepth review of the Minolta DiMAGE A1 with their final conclusion. The Minolta DiMAGE A1 is the latest in a series of DiMAGE SLR cameras that began way back with the original DiMAGE 7, the first 5 Megapixels prosumer camera in the world followed by the DiMAGE 7i and 7Hi cameras. In those days (2001) Minolta was the first who announced the 5 Megapixel camera and not just a regular camera, but a complete new designed SLR type camera with a remarkable 7x optical zoom. The new DiMAGE A1 is the latest Minolta SLR type generation and features, again, a new innovative technology. The Anti-Shake mode is a real interesting development and is a promising feature for future models.

According to Imaging Resource "Throughout their evolution, I have continued to be impressed with Minolta's DiMAGE series of digicams, from the 7 to the 7i, 7Hi, and now the A1. The new DiMAGE A1 is a very nice upgrade to the 7Hi, adding the benefits of faster shutter speeds, an effective Anti-Shake option, tracking auto focus, an intelligent grip sensor, 14-bit A/D conversion, a tilting LCD monitor, and remote capture capability to an already great camera." And "Image quality is excellent as well, with high resolution, very good colour, appropriate saturation, and contrast and saturation controls that cover a useful range in fine steps."
If you are looking for an all-round digital camera with a great zoom range and excellent image quality you should be sure to check the new DiMAGE A1 at your local store, after you have read the review at Imaging Resource!
