The sub-$30, five-ounce pocket-sized Pure Digital Technologies one-time-use digital video camcorders record up to 20 minutes of digital video on internal memory. They offer consumers an easy-to-use and convenient way to capture high-quality digital video without investing hundreds of dollars in a conventional video camera. After shooting their video, consumers return the camera to the store where Pure Digital's proprietary video processing platform formats the content and burns a high-quality DVD utilizing Sonic's AuthorScript Video technology.

AuthorScript Video - DVD creation technology
"With AuthorScript Video, we were able to quickly integrate Sonic's proven DVD creation technology into our product while keeping costs low, which helped to bring the one-time-use digital video camcorder to market quickly."

One-time-use digital video camera
"The launch of a one-time-use digital video camera opens up digital video and DVD to a whole new channel of users," said Jim Taylor, general manager of Sonic's Advanced Technology Group. "Similar to the disposable camera market, which made photography inexpensive and accessible for the masses, consumers can now experience the power of digital video for one-tenth the cost of a conventional camcorder. We are delighted that Pure Digital is making digital video technology more accessible to consumers, and expect that one-time-use video cameras will further accelerate the growth of the digital video industry."
