Audio system buyers guide : Consumers interested in a high quality audio experience this holiday season are encouraged to visit the Consumer Electronics Association's (CEA) new website, www.GreatAudio.com. The site offers information and tips for consumers on how to evaluate and purchase quality audio systems. A dealer locator also assists consumers in finding local retailers to assist them with audio demonstrations and purchases. According to CEA's 12th Annual Holiday Sales and Forecast Survey, home theater speakers, systems, but also plasma televisions, big screen TVs and high-definition televisions (HDTV) are ranked among the top ten consumer electronics gifts on consumers' wish lists this year.

The GreatAudio.com website also offers links to other CEA consumer resources, such as the CEA Connections Guide (www.ceaconnectionsguide.com), an online Flash program that takes users step-by-step through the set-up process to interconnect audio and video products, and www.TechHome.com, a resource for consumers who may be seeking structured wiring installation, help with a complex home network, planning a home theater, or need a total tech make-over for a new or existing home.
Consumer electronics - High definition television
"High-definition television has sparked renewed interest in home theater for many consumers," said CEA President and CEO Gary Shapiro. "But HDTV is only truly complete with great audio to accompany it. Sound is what allows consumers to re-create the movie theater or concert experience in the comfort of their living room."
GreatAudio website - Dealer locator
Through the end of January, 2006, consumers who use the dealer locator on GreatAudio.com to receive a demonstration of audio will receive a sampler disc produced by Concord Records, which will include cuts from the eight-time GRAMMY(R) Award-winning Ray Charles "Genius Loves Company" album, along with exclusive cuts from Christian Scott, Taylor Eigsti and Erin Boheme, three of the jazz genre's rising stars.
