Nikon D200 and Sigma HSM support

 Nikon D200 and Sigma HSM support : AF function of Sigma HSM equipped lenses do not operate when AF operation button on the back of the body of a Nikon D200 digital SLR camera (recently introduced to the market by Nikon) is used. This problem is caused due to a firmware bug of Sigma HSM equipped lenses. Sigma regret any inconvenience that may cause to Sigma's customers who own a Nikon D200 D-SLR camera. Sigma are committed to making this situation right. In this respect, Sigma will immediate start updating firmware of these lenses free of charge. Please also note that if "shutter button" is used for AF operation of HSM equipped lenses, camera and lens combination works without any problem.

 Sigma lens - Hyper Sonic Motor
This problem occurs with Sigma HSM equipped lenses only. Non-HSM models of Sigma lenses function properly with a D200 digital SLR camera. The Sigma HSM lens models provide quiet high-speed auto-focus shooting, as well as full-time manual focus. The Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) driven by ultrasonic waves is used by a HSM driven lens to ensure the fast and quite results. Professionals or semi-pro's who are used to speed find the HSM lens a perfect match with their digital SLR equipment.
