CESOnline connect Guide for Consumer Electronics : This holiday season, thousands of consumers will receive gifts of home audio and video products. To get these products up and running as quickly as possible, the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) provides consumers with the CEA Connections Guide (www.ceaconnectionsguide.com), an online Flash program that takes users step-by-step through the set-up process to interconnect consumer electronics products. "Many consumers will be excited to receive a new TV, DVR or audio system or other consumer electronics, yet quickly turn frustrated without the knowledge or the necessary cables to set it up properly with their existing audio-video equipment," said CEA President and CEO Gary Shapiro.

"CEA's Connections Guide was created to ease consumers through the process, so they can begin enjoying their consumer electronics purchase as soon as it comes out of the box." Created by the CEA Accessories Division, the CEA Connections Guide is an interactive resource with easy-to-understand descriptions and photographs of each connector for audio and video devices. The CEA Connections Guide shows consumers where the connectors typically are located and how they can use them to optimize product performance. Consumers also are educated about the performance differences of each connector.

Consumer Help Guide
According to CEA's 12th annual Holiday Sales and Forecast Survey released in October, five out the ten top gifts this holiday season are home audio/video, including plasma televisions, big screen TVs and high-definition televisions and home theater speakers or systems. The CEA Connections Guide will be indispensable to the consumers giving and receiving consumer electronics this holiday season.
