OlympusEvery avid photographer knows you can never have enough camera equipment. That's why Olympus has a comprehensive assortment of high-quality, affordable accessories for all its CAMEDIA digital cameras. Ranging from conversion lenses and flash systems to power sources, underwater and stylish leather cases, these models enhance the photography experience. They are also ideal presents for the enthusiastic photographer. To accompany the launch of its 5.1 megapixel C-5060 WIDE ZOOM, for example, Olympus also has released a range of new accessories designed especially for this camera. Boasting a wide-angle zoom lens, very short release time lag and 5.1 megapixels, the CAMEDIA C-5060 WIDE ZOOM is already very impressive.
However, an array of new accessories extend the possibilities and shooting enjoyment even further. Two new conversion lenses have been specially created for this camera. They are the first to feature a bayonet mount and can be quickly attached to the camera via the new CLA-7 conversion lens adapter. As a result, the user is able to extend the camera's optical capabilities in no time at all. There are also three different filters that screw on to the front of the C-5060 WIDE ZOOM's lens. The UV and polarising filters increase the creative possibilities while the protective filter prevents the camera’s lens from being smudged or scratched.

Compatibility with the Power Battery Holder B-HLD20 and the PS-BLM1 rechargeable batteries brings considerably more power for longer shooting sessions. The holder features an additional shutter release button plus zoom lever with lock function to permit comfortable vertical-portrait framing. Until now, the rechargeable PS-BLM1 batteries could only be used with the groundbreaking professional Olympus E-System. They deliver an impressive performance of 1500 mAh. Recharging with the PS-BCM1 takes just around 120 minutes.

And that's not all. Besides a smart leather case, an underwater case will soon be available for the C-5060 WIDE ZOOM. Of course, there are also many other accessories for both this and all the other CAMEDIA models:

xD-Picture Card
The removable xD-Picture Card has been developed to meet the memory card requirements of the modern, multi-megapixel digital photographer: it is ultra-compact, permits fast data transfer and is now available in sizes up to 512MB. The media has been designed to potentially support capacities of up to 8GB in the future. Shooting versatility is enhanced thanks to a unique feature of Olympus xD-Picture Cards: support of the panorama function which is provided by the majority of the CAMEDIA digital cameras. In addition to this new memory card standard, Olympus also offers SmartMedia cards.

For transferring data from xD-Picture Cards, SmartMedia or even CompactFlash cards to a computer, Olympus presents a variety of solutions. The MAUSB-100 is a USB stick for xD-Picture cards. This ultra-compact storage device with removable memory can be taken everywhere. Accepting xD-Picture Cards of any capacity, it assures complete expandability and, thanks to USB2.0 compatibility, makes transferring files to and/or from a computer fast and easy. There are also two other card reader/writers with a USB interface for trouble-free, high speed data transfer between card and computer. One of these, MAUSB-10, takes both xD-Picture Card and SmartMedia while MAUSB-5W accepts SmartMedia and Compact Flash (Type I and II).

The MAPC-10 PC card adapter features a 2-in-1 PC Card adapter slot, allowing easy data exchange between the xD-Picture Card or SmartMedia and a computer. The MACF-10 Compact Flash card adapter has been exclusively designed for xD-Picture Cards and ensures image data can be quickly and easily transferred from the card to the computer. In addition, this card adapter enables xD-Picture Cards to be inserted into other cameras and multimedia devices with a CompactFlash slot (Type I + II).

Leather Cases
With elegant designs and special compartments for memory cards and/or batteries, the Olympus high-quality leather cases provide protection while being a very stylish accessory. All leather cases are equipped with a belt-attachment for transportation of the camera. Depending on the camera model, transportation by hand strap or neck strap is also possible while the camera is inside the leather case. There is a tailor-made case for each CAMEDIA camera series plus one for the MJU DIGITAL line. Even for the Olympus xD-Picture Cards, a very elegant, slim-line and compact wallet is available. This holds and protects up to six cards and is equipped with the anti-static cardholder.

Underwater Cases
For the adventurous digital photographer, Olympus offers a selection of Underwater Cases that are waterproof up to a water pressure equivalent to a depth of 40 metres. Their sturdy polycarbonate construction also cushions the cameras from knocks and shocks when on dry land. There are cases custom-designed for the MJU 400 Digital, MJU 300 Digital, C-50ZOOM, C-5050ZOOM and most recently the C-750 Ultra Zoom, C-740 Ultra Zoom and C-350ZOOM/C-450ZOOM. Underwater Cases for the C-5000ZOOM and C-5060 WIDE ZOOM will appear in the near future.

External flash units
Powerful external flash units have been specially developed for use with Olympus digital cameras. Offering precise TTL flash control or manual operation for full creative flexibility, these flash units are sure to satisfy the most discerning photographers. Delivering great illumination power, the FL-50 has a guide number of 50 at tele settings and 28 for wide-angle shots. The ultra-compact, lightweight and stylish FL-20 with a guide number of max. 20 is ideal for the user on the move. Thanks to the very precise adjustment of its light power (in 1/8EV increments), this flash is ideally suited for use with digital cameras since their CCDs are far more sensitive to light than analogue film. A support bracket plus a range of flash connection cables enable attachment of these models to the various flash contacts used by the different CAMEDIA cameras. With the SLR models CAMEDIA E-20P and E-10 as well as the CAMEDIA C-5060 WIDE ZOOM, C-5050ZOOM and C-750 Ultra Zoom, the flash units can be attached directly to the camera via the hot-shoe without any additional equipment.

Lens converters
The Olympus conversion lenses deliver the high optical quality required in digital image capture. All have been especially developed to suit the imaging systems of the compatible CAMEDIA cameras, ensuring optimal results without sacrificing quality.

When fitted to a compatible camera, a wide-angle conversion lens reduces the focal length by a factor of 0.7x for great coverage, without requiring the aperture to be changed. To get closer to the action, a tele converter may be attached, increasing the focal length by a factor of 1.7x. A macro conversion lens is also available.

Power supply
Chargers, batteries and AC adapters, Olympus has them all. Displaying fantastic speed, the BU-70SE can charge two AA batteries in around 105 minutes. It holds up to four AA and two AAA batteries, and even allows simultaneous charging of the two types.

All the CAMEDIA Ni-MH battery chargers assure worldwide use thanks to their auto multi-voltage compatibility (100 – 240 volts.) Their compact form and removable cable ensure they take up little space when travelling. A battery protection system helps gain optimum performance from the high capacity Ni-MH batteries by preventing overcharging of the battery. All chargers come complete with a set of four high-capacity AA rechargeable Ni-MH batteries of 2100mAh to meet the high-power demands of digital cameras. Olympus additionally offers a range of AC adapters for when the photographer is shooting indoors or anywhere near a mains electricity supply. This ensures constant power without having to replace batteries.

CAMEDIA Master 4.1 software
PC and Mac-compatible, this software makes processing, editing, organising and archiving digital still or video images child's play. Besides the Standard version, there is also a Pro version for the user who wants to get even more out of the images. This includes a number of additional fascinating options. For example, it allows the production, with little effort, of exciting slide-show presentations containing sound effects and music (in the MP3 format). It also enables those without any programming knowledge to set up an online photo gallery by creating HTML photo albums.
