NewsBest Amateur Photographer in Kent 2006 : Eynsford Photographic Image Club (EPIC), organisers of the inaugural countywide search to find the ‘Best Amateur Photographer in Kent 2006’ sponsored by Kent Life magazine, are declaring loudly that Kent is officially obsessed with snapping! The competition to find Kent’s best snappers (Under 16 and Adult) is a precursor to the main event - a two day festival of photography focusing on the fastest growing art form in the UK - photography. EPIC are keen to focus attention on their May 2006 event the : EPIC Photography Festival (May 28th-29th). The festival is the first of it’s kind dedicated to photography in the UK, open to both amateur and professional photographers with no age bar.
Best Amateur Photographer in Kent 2006'Best Amateur Photographer' - Prices
Festival organizers, EPIC (Eynsford Photographic Image Club), are keen to find the best amateur snapper in Kent and award them the honour of the title and some fabulous prizes, including; a luxury SPA break at Brandshatch Place, part of Hand Picked Hotels, for the adult winner courtesy of Hand Picked Hotels, a Canon Ixus 40 digital camera courtesy of AJ Electronics, and a Bencqc digital camera with Sagem printer to the winner of the Under 16 category. All entrants into the competition will receive a bonus prize of 30 free prints from online print specialists Snapfish.

Visit festival in picture perfect Eynsford
Competition entrants will have the chance to visit the festival in picture perfect Eynsford next May, and view their entries at site 1 - St Martin’s.. The second festival site, Anthony Roper, has been set aside as a space for hire by keen amateur photographers who want to exhibit and sell their work.

Capture the best photograph!
Competition co-ordinator, Vikki Rimmer said: ‘Kent Life magazine and EPIC want to encourage Kent residents, both young and old to get out and about and capture the theme set for 2006 ‘Kent Today’. It’s a great New Year project for those doing their GCSE art in schools, photography students at Kent colleges, adult education, camera club members and photography fans.’

Vikki Rimmer said: ‘We have chosen the theme ‘Kent Today’ in order to encompass the wide diversity of our county - we have beautifully dramatic seascapes, impressive architectural features such as the Queen Elizabeth Bridge, rolling fields, the garden of England element and a vibrant social scene.’ Entry forms are available on line at photographyfestival.org
