NikonNikon P1 Wireless review : During the IFA event 2005 in Berlin I attended the press conference of Nikon Europe. In this conference Nikon introduced their first series of digital cameras with built-in Wi-Fi functionality. Nikon were not the first to announce a camera with Wi-Fi availability, but they were definitely the very first to deliver a camera with this function built-in the camera unlike Kodak did with the EasyShare-One; using a memory card with Wi-Fi functions. Nikon has obtained a lot of experience in the professional segment and by introducing the Nikon Coolpix P1 and P2 with built-in Wi-Fi functionality they take the first steps in the consumer market.
Nikon Coolpix P1 reviewNikon Wireless digital compact camera
The Coolpix P1 is small and light, a nice compact digital camera to carry with you all the time. Despite its small dimensions it has a broad range of innovative features on board. What about wireless communi-cations? Nikon has gained a lot of experience with wireless communications in the professional field and with this experience Nikon was ready to introduce this technique into the world of compact digital cameras. I strongly believe a large group of consumers being directly convinced about the potential wireless communication and digital cameras have to offer. Others need to be convinced by seeing and believing it themselves. Whatever the result may be I already have enjoyed lesser cables in the office with the wireless Internet, I am sure I will be as happy to reduce the amount of cables with my digital imaging workflow as well...

The Nikon Coolpix P1 also excels in terms of sheer image quality. Featuring the imaging performance of 8.0 effective Megapixels, it offers ample resolution for beautiful enlargements as well as offering plenty of leeway for creative cropping. The Nikon P1 digital camera features the further compositional freedom of 3.5x zoom capability too, incorporating a powerful 36-126mm Zoom-Nikkor lens (35mm equivalent) that enables users to zoom in for tight compositions or zoom out to capture impressive landscapes, for example.

Nikon Coolpix P1 Wireless review :
We already had one of the first pre-production samples in the house, but were not able to come to an end-conclusion due to its status. After receiving a full production sample, we tried out the Nikon Coolpix P1 in practice and besides its photographic quality; we tested the possibilities of Wi-Fi. Our experiences can be read in the following Nikon Coolpix P1 digital camera review.
