FotoNationFotonation red eye technology award : FotoNation Ireland Ltd., a subsidiary of FotoNation Inc., one of the world’s leading imaging and connectivity solutions, announced today that it has been selected as finalist for the prestigious 2006 European IST (Information Society Technology) Grand Prize for its innovative Red-Eye Technology. FotoNation is one of only twenty finalists for the IST award. Now in its eleventh year, the European IST Prize is awarded for groundbreaking products that represent the best of European innovation in IT technology. The award provides public recognition and is a highly visible display of entrepreneurial teams that excel in generating unique ideas and R&D and converting them into marketable products.

Red-eye detection & Removal technology
Selected for its highly innovative Red-Eye Detection and Removal Technology, FotoNation will exhibit its products at the European IST Prize Exhibition at the European Commission in Brussels on November 30 - December 1, 2005. The award organizers, Euro-CASE, will propose 3 Grand Prize Winners to the European Commission. The European Commission will then select up to 20 European IST Prize Winners and up to 3 Grand Prize Winners, with the awards ceremony taking place on March 23, 2006 at the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna.
